Oil on linen . . .

Mary Beth Thompson Dowlin studied theater, art and interior design at the University of Mississippi. As an interior designer, some of her projects included a showhouse, model rooms, and design liaison for the Netherland Hotel refurbishment.
She left design behind with the birth of her twins and summertime with family at Martha’s Vineyard rekindled her love for painting. “The magical light and textures of the Vineyard are an inspiration, and I try to bring that to all my work.”
She has studied with several Cincinnati artists and regularly participates in regional shows. Two of her designs for the Big Pig Gig public works art project appeared at City Hall and Sawyer Pointe.
Dowlin is a member of several groups, including a Signature Member of Cincinnati Art Club, where she served as the president who ushered in their 125th year.
