Kimberly Gehring-Cook has been Behringer-Crawford Museum's education director for the past seven years. Previously, she enjoyed teaching reading and art at Covington Latin School for 18 years. She has a BA in English and art, and a MEd in secondary education from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH. One of Kim’s main interests is being out in nature, and this shows in her art, as her primary subject matter tends to be flowers, birds and animals. She loves to paint in oils, but has dabbled in acrylics, graphic design, drawing, intaglio printing, glassblowing (spun glass technique), ceramics and various fiber arts, as well as crystal engraving. Kim has decided to explore encaustic (wax/resin) painting in conjunction with oil paints to add to this repertoire, "just for the challenge!"

Kim lives in Westwood, OH with her husband of twenty-four years, two very active nearly-grown daughters and her rescue-Lab, Nyxie.
