Acrylic. . . When the fall leaves have turned, there is a particular moment in time when the light infuses the tree lines with a glow of color. I wanted to capture that brilliance against the blues of shadow and distant hills in a setting of geometrical shapes against the organic. Outer dimensions: 15.5" x 18.5"
As a schoolgirl, Laureen Miklos was reprimanded for spending too much time on art projects. She eventually gave them up altogether during a 24-year career as a Navy pilot. After retiring as a Commander, she finally returned to her early passion of painting.
As a schoolgirl, Laureen Miklos was reprimanded for spending too much time on art projects. She eventually gave them up altogether during a 24-year career as a Navy pilot. After retiring as a Commander, she finally returned to her early passion of painting.
Her primary medium is acrylic paint, and Miklos is always experimenting with different textures and tools. Following her first painting class with Don Cook at Maryland Hall of Creative Arts, she has since received instruction from Baker Hunt, John C. Campbell Folk School, Painting Miles, Scottsdale Artists’ School, and Tina Tammaro.
Miklos’ work is influenced by her deep love of nature, especially the visual dynamism between the organic and man-made worlds. She also enjoys the poetic mystery of a still life.
