Bio:
Fran Hemmer paints with oil on canvas, and likes to capture the play of light and contrast of soft and sharp edges on natural objects. Influenced mainly by a combination of both Impressionistic and Traditional styles, she pays tribute to John Singer Sargent and Frank Duveneck. She enjoys painting dramatic light and forms in a variety of settings including gardens, parks, water reflections, flower arrangements and human forms.

Fran earned a BA in Urban Planning, an Architectural degree from UC’s College of Applied Science, and has studied Graphic Design at NKU. She is a signature member of the Woman’s Art Club of Cincinnati, and member of Friends of Baker Hunt, Covington. She was an art educator for Ludlow Schools as part of a state grant, and initiated the volunteer art appreciation programs at St. Joseph school, Crescent Springs and Notre Dame Urban Education. Her work has been on display at Frame and Hang Studio, Bellevue and at Ralice Fine Art Gallery, Ft. Mitchell.
