Inspired by 1950-60's Palm Springs architecture, neon signs, and vintage advertising, this piece is a 4-layer handmade screen print.  This print symbolizes a different era that many people, including myself, often look back upon with such wonder and idealization.  However, when inspired by something from a different period, I love the research process in which I can dive into the reality of the era as well as what design looked like during the period and what effect it had on society.

Bio:
Laurel Howell is a recent graduate of the University of Kentucky where she majored in Digital Media and Design. While in school, Laurel discovered her love for the medium of printmaking, and created works such as “Sun Daze.” Laurel is currently an aspiring printmaker and designer who is always looking for opportunities to learn and further her craft.
