In 1995, while working at Emory University in Atlanta, Stoney enrolled in a community watercolor class, and declared: “ this is what I want to do when I grow up!” Later she moved to Covington, Kentucky to open her own business doing custom picture framing. Over the last 27 years, Stoney’s Etc! has evolved to become a popular, welcoming business in MainStrasse Village featuring board games, children’s toys and art. Stoney has continued to pursue her passion for art with watercolors and acrylics. She has written and illustrated a children’s book On Being a Real Princess….Secrets of the Happy Heart Princess. Her love for art includes sewing pretty little children’s aprons to sell in her shop. In 2024, she introduced “Artist of the Month,” providing a venue for artists to display their art at Stoney’s Etc!  At the young age of 82, Stoney enjoys painting, playing her ukulele, gardening, sewing and welcoming little ones to her shop.
