Medium: Oil on canvas
Dimensions: 16 1/4"h x 12"w
I was captivated by the magical, misty view of the beautiful Mutter Gottes Kirche in Covington. the church spiers appeared so pronounced as the hazy light muffled and seemingly washed away the hustle & bustle of contemporary life that surrounds this mid-19th century building.
Bio:
Christine Moore is an artist living in Northern Kentucky, and is currently building her body of work. She graduated from the Columbus College of Art & Design 35 years ago, but her life's path as an artist started only a few years ago. Christine primarily paints landscapes in oil, preferring to paint en Plein Air, because she likes the immediacy of painting outdoors, the energy that comes from capturing the light and shadows before they shift, and most importantly noticing the subtle changes in color only her eyes can see. She states: “those subtleties are not captured with the use of a camera and/or using photo references, as the camera tends to condense the visual information. I do not intend to replicate what a camera does so easily and effortlessly. My intention is to express how I see and feel as I am experiencing the landscape before me.”
