Bio: As a schoolgirl, Laureen Miklos was reprimanded for spending too much time on her art projects. Gradually, she gave them up to launch a 24-year career as a Navy pilot. She holds a BS in English from the Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, and an MA of Liberal Arts from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD. After retiring as a Navy commander, she returned to her early passion -- painting.
Her primary medium is acrylic paint, & she's always experimenting with different textures & tools. She has taken a painting class at Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center in Covington, under the instruction of artist Tina Tammaro. Her work is influenced by her deep love of nature. She says "especially the visual dynamism between the organic world and the man-made."
