Medium: Various tree species, steer hide, rawhide handle lacing from horse, elk, and cow. Cherry wood used for drumstick, carved with formline art style figures of wold, raven, eagle, orca, horse, salmon, & human.
The Wakan Drum is a very unique hand-crafted multi-wood species drum. Each type of wood represents a sacred wood revered by various Cultures, Tribes and Beliefs worldwide.  The tension ring (visible upper edge bulge) under the drum hide uses both biaxial carbon fiber and basalt fibers to give the frame great strength.
Bio: Seven years ago (2018), Chuck Wilson followed a vision to design and create unique one-of-a-kind hand crafted shamanic sacred drums.  The mission of this work is to give honor and recognition to the Cultures, Indigenous Tribal Nations, the Trees, all Living things and many Beliefs Worldwide, and to provide unique sacred drums to support many people’s spiritual beliefs, practices and meditation interests.
